Homework Pro ("we," "our," or "us") is a customer relationship management (CRM) application designed for residential construction businesses. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our application. By using Homework Pro, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you sign in to Homework Pro using Google Sign-In, we collect your name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account. This information is used to identify you within the application and manage your access level.
1.2 Business Data
You may enter business-related data into the application, including but not limited to: customer contact information (names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses), project details, estimates, invoices, payment records, scheduling information, task assignments, documents, photos, and internal communications. This data is stored to provide CRM functionality and is owned by your organization.
1.3 Google Calendar and Gmail Data
With your explicit consent, Homework Pro requests access to your Google Calendar and Gmail (send only) to enable calendar synchronization and email sending features. We access only the data necessary to provide these features. Calendar data is used to sync events between Homework Pro and Google Calendar. Gmail access is limited to sending emails on your behalf from within the application; we do not read, store, or process your incoming emails.
1.4 Uploaded Files
You may upload files such as receipts, invoices, documents, photos, and floor plans. These files are stored securely in cloud storage associated with your organization's account and are accessible only to authorized users within your organization.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to: provide, operate, and maintain the CRM application; authenticate your identity and manage user access; synchronize calendar events with Google Calendar; send emails on your behalf through Gmail; process uploaded receipts and invoices for data extraction; provide AI-powered features such as drafting messages and project assistance; send system notifications related to your account; and improve and optimize the application.
3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored using Google Firebase infrastructure, including Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Cloud Storage. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS and at rest using Google's default encryption. Access to your organization's data is restricted by role-based access controls configured within the application. While we implement commercially reasonable security measures, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share data with the following service providers solely to operate the application: Google Cloud Platform (hosting, authentication, storage, and API services), Anthropic (AI-powered features via the Claude API — conversational data sent to the API is not retained by Anthropic for training purposes), and Stripe (payment processing, if applicable). We may also disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.
5. Third-Party Services
Homework Pro integrates with third-party services including Google Workspace APIs, Anthropic Claude AI, and Stripe. Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing their use of data. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your organization's account is active or as needed to provide services. Business data (projects, estimates, invoices, etc.) is retained until deleted by an authorized user within your organization. If you request deletion of your account, we will remove your personal information from our systems within 30 days, unless retention is required by law.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request deletion of your personal data; withdraw consent for data processing; and export your data in a portable format. 8. Children's Privacy
Homework Pro is a business application and is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by posting the updated policy within the application. Your continued use of the application after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
